## Caption

Western Avenue came into being  in the 1820’s after the Pawtucket Canal ceased to be important to the transport of timber and instead became a power supply for textile mills. By the early 1900’s the buildings looked much as they do today. Visit us on Open Studio days - the buildings are as beautiful as the art found in them.
