We have chosen to invest in the sport, invest in the athletes, and in competition.
 
Portland Track is seeding the prize purse for the Portland Track Festival with $22,400.
 
$3 of every $5.99 PPV purchase will go directly into the purse on top of that. We’ve said it before, but if all 133,000 of bowermantc’s IG followers bought PPV tickets to watch the meet at tracklnd.com, $400,000 would go to athletes in a single meet. Swap that number for any team’s following. Imagine what that would do for the sport.
 
Brands can step up and join us too. By contributing, seeding the purse and putting their name on a race.
 
Racing is important. It allows for the uniquely talented individuals in our sport to flex their talents against one another, and in turn, shine in contrast. Racing accentuates an athlete’s skills in juxtaposition to their competition. Meaningful racing with something on the line turns up the voltage on this.
 
Portland Track is a volunteer non-profit organization, but we are doubling down because we believe in the sport and the power of the athletes competing. This ain’t just another exhibition or the circus coming to town, these athletes care about the win in the Electric Forest, for their teams, for their communities and for themselves. There is a lot on the line, and to take a win in Portland is something that should be remembered for a long time.
 
Wins matter and are celebrated because we want them to. We decide their importance- the fans and the athletes. We have the power. It is our sport.
 
#MWM stands for Make Winning Matter. Putting something on the line and rallying around organic, culturally iconic meets beloved by the community, locally and worldwide does this. It celebrates the unique ways in which athletes secure victory and challenges us all to find our talent.
 
Together we can show the world the power of this beautiful sport. This is the people’s meet. This is your meet. Build it up and give it all the importance this sport deserves.
