Ford vs Ferrari
 
Real racing, at its finest is a clash of styles.
 
The unbridled power and wild closing speed of a mustang rolling out wide to the open space.
The precision, clean lines and surgical maneuvering of the world’s greatest tactical machine.
 
Even more than having complete control of their own unique set of skills, no one is more acutely aware of what they are capable of executing on any given second within 3 and half minutes than the other.
They know each other’s tells. They know each other’s tendencies. And they know how to play The Game.
 
Despite their differences, the one thing they have in common is that they don’t shy away from big moments. They live for them and thrive in them- and struggled over the past year in the absence of them.
 
On the surface, there’s respect, even cordiality but deep down you know that they want nothing more than to look down at the other from atop the podium, aware of the gut-wrenching nights that come with waiting for the next battle with silver around your neck. 
 
Athletes soaked in talent can shrink in the bright lights, but a gamer with all the tools rises to the occasion and feeds on the fodder of doubters, making nails look like oat bran between molars.
 
So it makes a perfect match-up. The more mind games that are played, the more doubts voiced, the bigger the stage- the more focused the contenders and the better the performance we’re treated to.
 
Today is Le Mans. It’s what we’ve waited for. Both men are healthy and at the height of their game. And part of the game is that they’ll have to keep an eye not just on each other, but every other dangerous man in the field affecting the outcome, including the young bucks looking to make their names against the greats.
