Amid the pandemic, athletes in the Pacific Northwest came together to compete safely, responsibly and fiercely over five meets held in top secret locations.

Photographer, Howard Lao captured racers against a familiar press zone backdrop in their familiar uniforms wearing protective masks following their races at the final meet, BF5: The Meaning of Friendly and we collected their thoughts on competing in meets that existed in a different Space and Time.
