Ritz, the man who knows how to ride the red line better than anyone. 
Stories about him center on the notion that his sense for the boundary between full throttle and collapse was so keen that he could place it exactly at the finish line ahead of him, meeting it many times in the arms of race officials who carried him to the press area. 
Ritz holds the meet record in the 5,000m at the Portland Track Festival, running 13:19.78 in section 1 in 2012. He won section 2 that day as well, running 13:58.68 for a 200 watt performance in the electric forest. 
Thank you for giving all of us your best and inspiring an entire generation of curious runners to flirt with their limits.
