Saile wrapped up a dominating weekend in the circle, picking up a pair of victories along with a save in FIU's sweep of WKU. In the series opener, Saile tied the 2017 C-USA single-game strikeout total by fanning 14 in a one-hit shutout. The rookie allowed one hit batter in the first and an infield bunt single in the fourth, but a caught stealing allowed her to face just one more than the minimum. In game two, Saile was brought in relief with the bases loaded and one out in the sixth inning. She proceeded to strike out the next two batters and tossed a scoreless seventh for her third save of the season. On Sunday, a pair of errors allowed two unearned runs, but Saile struck out nine in the complete-game triumph. In her last six appearances, Saile has not allowed an earned run, boasting a 5-0 record with 42 strikeouts and eight walks in 34.2 innings. The freshman now sits at 19 complete games this season, four away from the FIU single-season record. Saturday's 3-0 win pushed her shutout total to seven, one away from tying the program single-season record. Saile's 1.55 ERA leads the league and her .145 opposing batting average is nearly 50 points better than second place (.188, Jordan Dixon, Marshall).
