The Oak Fire burning outside of Yosemite National Park has forced thousands of evacuations, charred more than 19,150 acres, and destroyed at least 116 structures since starting Friday near Midpines. The raging wildfire spread rapidly, more than 15,000 acres over the first two days, due to high heat and extended drought conditions. On Saturday, California Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency for Mariposa County. Over 3,000 personnel are battling the blaze from the air and on the ground.
