This week, balper_nyc joins gettyarchive for a takeover exploring some of the more serendipitous encounters in her work: “There's a quote that I came across a number of years ago by Eve Arnold. She said that her intent was to photograph, with humor and irony, the ‘inconsistencies and absurdities current in everyday life.’ And when I heard that, I thought, ‘That's what I'm doing and that's what I want to do.’ And I continue to do that. I think life is funny. I think people are innately funny and weird. I'd rather laugh at something and look at the brighter side of things.”⁠
