The 2020 Wanda Diamond League season draws to a close on Friday in the Qatari capital of Doha 🇶🇦 . And while the end of the Diamond League season isn’t the official end of the track season — we still have the World Athletics Continental Tour meet in Nairobi (October 3) and Joshua Cheptegei‘s 🇺🇬 10,000-meter world record attempt in Valencia (October 7) to come.

In the Men’s 1500m, Conseslus Kipruto 🇰🇪, who hasn’t raced this distance in five years, should be in line for a big personal best. While Stewart McSweyn 🇦🇺 will be hunting his second Aussie record in nine days after narrowly missing Ryan Gregson‘s 🇦🇺 3:31.06 NR in Stockholm 🇸🇪 and Zagreb 🇭🇷. Barega is stepping down for a rare 1500 (though he did run a 3:36 pb in Bellinzona on September 15). With 10 of the 16 starters having run their personal best in 2020, there are a bunch of fit guys ready to run fast which will make it THE race to watch in Qatar 🇶🇦. 

In the Men’s 800m, Timothy Cheryiout 🇰🇪 will be making his long awaited return in the race he started off as a teenager in. However Timmy will be faced with big challenges with the likes of Bryce Hoppel 🇺🇸, Ferguson Cheryiout Rotich 🇰🇪, and Wesley Vasquez 🇵🇷 looking to take massive wins in a much anticipated race. However, Timothy Cheryiout 🇰🇪 will look to be the 5th member of the sub 3:30 1500m & sub 1:43 Club with Sebastian Coe 🇬🇧, Taoufik Makhloufi 🇩🇿, Steve Cram 🇬🇧, and Ayanleh Souleiman 🇩🇯. 

Lastly the Men’s 200m, includes 6 sub 20.50  performers: Julian Forte 🇯🇲, Michael Rodgers 🇺🇸, Christophe Lemaitre 🇫🇷, Mario Burke 🇧🇧, Christopher Belcher 🇺🇸. However, 100m specialist, Arthur Cisse 🇨🇮 looks to challenge the field and go under the sub 20 mark for his time in his brief career. Michael “Batman” Rodgers 🇺🇸 should be the favorite to take him this victory due to his successful season so far in Diamond League competitions.
