One of the last surviving stars from the golden age of Hollywood, Olivia de Havilland has died aged 104.⁠
In the 1940s, the Oscar-winning actress took on Warner Bros over a contractual dispute, helping dismantle the controlling studio system of the era.⁠
Celebrating a screen career that spanned five decades, de Havilland was awarded the Légion d'honneur in her adopted home of France in 2010, and was created a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2017.⁠
