The traditional White House Easter Egg Roll has been held annually on Easter Monday since 1878, with cancellations during the World Wars, the post-WWII period, and now the Covid-19 pandemic.⁠
Back in 1956, President Eisenhower and his wife, First Lady Mamie Eisenhower, welcomed thousands of children to the White House lawn. Among the guests, the original caption tells us, were Darlene Johansen and her little brother Fred.⁠
