Hundreds of thousands of young people from across the globe participated in a day of protest on Friday to demand their governments take urgent action to address the climate crisis. Named the Global Climate Strike, the marches have been inspired by 16-year-old Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, who first launched the "Fridays For Future" movement in August 2018 when she skipped school to strike for climate change awareness. Now, young people inspired by the movement from Brussels to Bangkok and Sydney to San Francisco have come together to make their voices heard.
