Photographer mattcardy recently took to the skies with the first of Britain's new supersonic 'stealth' strike #fighters, the F-35 Lightning:
"To be honest it's only when I look back at the video that I realise how extraordinary my job can be, dangling from the back of a Super #Hercules, restrained by only a harness, with two f-35 II Lighting stealth fighters just metres away. I was invited by the #MinistryofDefence to cover the maiden flight over the #UK of the newly acquired next-generation war #planes that will grace the decks of #Britain's brand new aircraft carriers. It was probably one of the most extraordinary sights of my career, but all in a day's work!" #GettyImagesNews
