We were invited by chef pasquale_didiana to try and give menu feedback for his new Wicker Park restaurant trattoria.rnb, which is opening in May. 

RNB stands for Rome, Naples, and Bari, which are the  3 regional/family influences for the menu of this cozy little spot. 

🚨 NOTE: I want to be clear in stating that because this was an invited meal and this is in no way a true review of the restaurant!!🚨

Our favorite dishes (full star ratings from the feedback form is towards the end of the slideshow): 

🍆 1 🍆Eggplant Parm: Loved the extremely thin layering on this parm. Served in an individual baking dish, so it had great crispy edges as well. 

🎣2🎣 Scialatielli: Homemade fresh pasta + an assortment of calamari, clams, and mussels with a tomato sauce. Easily my favorite pasta dish of the night. 

🐟3🐟Branzino: Lovely piece of fish. Have you ever had bad branzino though? And if you have, spill it in the comments. 

🍓4🍓Panna cotta: MY GOD 

Really appreciate Pasquale for not only inviting us out, but making it a point to request super honest feedback from everybody about each dish as they continue developing this menu. 

My main feedback: I thought some of the other pastas needed a bit of work, especially compared to how outstanding the scialatielli was. 

And this was super specific to this tasting, but I was too full towards the end to truly enjoy the sausage and final pasta dish, especially with how rich it was (not a knock on the dish).
