New work for oculus! #QuestPartner When they reached out for a video, initially I felt stuck and unsure of what to make. It's really hard to explain how VR feels to someone who has never tried it before, especially through a tiny little phone screen.

But then I thought about the Quest experiences that have stuck with me the most. For me, it's not the games with flashy graphics and light sabers. I actually like the really simple ones, where you’re just... immersed in another environment. After the last 2 years of being mostly stuck inside my room, that's what feels the most special to me.

I love the ambient home screen, where I sit in a super luxurious home that I could never afford IRL. I love talking to people in Horizon Workrooms, where I get to chill in a big space, looking out at the foggy trees through the window. And I love that I can teleport anywhere in the world, into these epic nature experiences.

The location in this video is Haifoss Falls in Iceland, and you can try it in the game Brink Traveler. This is a game that lets you go to these epic nature locations. We chose Haifoss Falls for this video so creyety could animate a moving waterfall, but my favorite location in the game is Antelope Canyon. I've always wanted to go there and now it kinda feels like I have!

🎬 How we made this: I had the privilege of working with some incredible editors for this project - filmwithryan created the transition by generating the particles and using liquify to match the body positions. creyety cut up the waterfall image into layers to create the moving parallax effect. They're both insanely talented editors, highly recommend following their work

In 2022 I want to experiment more... I'm especially interested in AR & VR. This space is gonna explode in the next few years and the creators who are early in this space are gonna have an advantage. And it’s still early!
