Invisibility Cloak idea for your Zoom calls  👻 Throwback to a video I made last year  

Here's how to do it on your next Zoom call:
1. Take a picture of your room with your webcam (without you in it)
2. Use the Zoom virtual background feature and set it to the picture of your room. Make sure you keep your computer webcam in the exact same position.
3. Toggle on the "I have a green screen" and then set it to the color of your blanket. A green blanket works best, but any distinct bright color blanket should work.
4. Disappear yourself!

Note: depending on the lighting, you might notice some artifacts along the very edges of your blanket. It's hard to avoid in a live Zoom meeting call, as it’s a limitation of the green screen feature. In this video example, I made the edges disappear at the very end by editing and merging it with the virtual background image using Premiere

I was trying to think of "low budget" movie shot ideas when I heard about how the actors on Europa Report used green yoga balls against a green screen to "float" in zero gravity. I wondered if I could make it work with the free Zoom green screen feature, so I tried it. Totally didn't work - the green balls were shiny and had lighting/reflection issues that messed with the green screen. So then I experimented with changing the object from a green ball to a green blanket, and was trying to think of movies that would work for that, when I remembered the Harry Potter!
