👇🏼 Tips for this shot:

This #underthesea shot is a simple transition through the water, with the second clip flipped upside-down and reversed

Make sure your camera lens is dry, then lower it into the water (waterproof cameras only!)

If you start with the camera underwater and then raise the camera, then you’ll get some water droplets on the camera lens, which will show up in the shot. To avoid this, I’m starting with the camera raised, then I lower it into the water, and finally reverse the footage and flip it upside-down.

Note: the Insta360 ONE R is waterproof, but the insta360 ONE X is not!! I’m also doing some reframing of the shot in post (capture footage in 360 and then point the camera in a fixed direction in post)

I got this footage a while back and finally got around to editing it, inspired by the kevinbparry #KevinParryJune 💧challenge! He’s an incredibly talented creative you should follow, and he has a new filmmaking challenge every month based on an emoji

This idea was inspired by a scene in Dua Lipa’s New Rules music video directed by hscholfield where a pool transitions to an upside-down pool
