It is HBCU Week and we are celebrating The Mecca. Did you know the first Black General in U.S. Army graduated from Howard University? In 1940, Benjamin Oliver Davis Sr. rose to the rank of Brigadier General. Here, President Clinton pins a 4th star in General Davis for his service. Davis retired as a lieutenant general and his son, Benjamin O. Davis Jr. furthered his legacy, becoming a 4-star general.
