#BlackHistoryMonth The Honorable Thurgood Marshall was the first African American Supreme Court Justice, serving from 1967 - 1991. Before becoming a justice, Marshall successfully argued before the Supreme Court in Brown v Board of Education. Howard University School of Law named its Civil Rights Center in his honor. Marshall graduated first in his class, from howardlawschool in 1933. .
