#BlackHistoryMonth Jeanne C. Sinkford, a graduate of Howard University’s College of Liberal Arts and graduate of the Howard University College of Dentistry became the first female Dean of the Howard University College of Dentistry in 1975 and thereby became the first female dean of a dental school in the United States. She served in that position until 1990. In 2015, Dr. Sinkford received the Distinguished Service Award from the American Dental Association.
