"This Fall I began my journey as a faculty member at The University of Alabama College of Education.  I am the first Black tenure-track faculty member in the history of my program! I stand on the shoulders of so many but I am FOREVER thankful to Howard University.  #HowardU provided me with critical lessons that I am now able to impart to my students and colleagues.  My alma-mater taught me to own the spaces that we were once denied!  My adoration of Howard & HBCUs as a whole is woven through my teaching, research, & service as a faculty member.
