Our #CoJMCAlumni spotlight this week is LaSharah Bunting, an Omaha native. LaSharah, a 2000 journalism grad, is the director of journalism at the Knight Foundation in Miami.

LaSharah said she appreciated the challenging and collaborative environment at the CoJMC that prepared her for a successful career.
.
“I had one awesome professor, Dick Thien, whose support, guidance and encouragement led me to where I am today,” she said. “He used to tell me: ‘I have a feeling you’re going to do some great things.’ That always stuck with me, and it made me believe anything was possible.”

LaSharah said the most important thing she learned during her time at the college was to stay disciplined about your craft and consistently put in the hard work.
