Repetition is key. It’s all about ice time.

Ever heard of the 10,000 hour rule? If you dedicate 10,000 hours of practice to any given skill, you will be a master at it. I bet most professional athletes have accomplished this amount of training. 

I wish I knew how many hours I have now at age 24. From shooting pucks in my driveway to stickhandling my in my living room, it all counts towards the 10,000. 

When I have a kid, I’m going to try to keep track of the amount of training hours they rack up in the sport that they choose.
