Cameron Carter-Vickers has only been able to play 26 out of 44 games for Celtic this season due to injuries.

With the USMNT, he was with them for October and November camps where he featured in all four games. But because of injuries, he missed out on September and recent March camps.

He opened up about his struggles.

“The season overall has been frustrating as I want to play as much as I can,” Carter-Vickers told the Celtic View.

“The injury is a reoccurring hamstring issue which can be down to a lot of things, but I think we have found out why that is.”

“I’ve been working a lot in the gym with certain treatments to try and correct the problem. So fingers crossed it’s all okay now.”

“The goal is to continue to improve [as a player]. Naturally, you should be at your best at the end of the season.”

“This season for me, I’ve had a lot of injuries so it’s been hard to focus on improving when the focus has been on getting fit and playing.”

The 26-year-old is back fit and played four times in last three weeks, recently featuring in Saturday’s Scottish Cup semifinal win over Aberdeen.

Celtic are leading the league table with just three points ahead of Rangers, so having him back is crucial for the club.

Carter-Vickers is also desperate to make the Copa América squad with the USMNT, where he will get to test himself against the best teams from South and North America.
