🎓Major: Religion with Children and Youth Ministry concentration

📖 What do you like best about your classes?
I like that my classes are small. This makes me more comfortable with asking questions and it makes it a lot easier to stay connected in the class.

👩‍🏫What do you like best about your professors?
I love that my professors treat me like a student and a person. They always make me feel like I am more than just a number and they put in active effort to connect with me in and out of the classroom. 

📓What do you like best about your major?
I love that I am learning how to serve the Lord while being trained to do a job I love. I also like that the religion majors all have similar classes, so I have most of my religion classes with the same people. It really feels like a big family.

✝️How has your faith grown since you’ve been at SWU?
My faith has grown through my peers and my professors. My professors have really poured into me as spiritual mentors and I feel God so closely when I see my peers have encounters with the Lord. I also have grown in my faith simply because this school allows and encourages me to freely be a Christ follower.

💙What made you chose SWU?
I originally wanted to study forensics, before accepting a call to ministry. A friend of mine that was a forensic major at SWU at the time offered to show me around campus and I knew from the moment I saw campus that I was meant to be here. The Lord continually reveals that to me & I am so glad I am here.

❔What is your favorite part about the SWU Community?
I love that SWU is a smaller school, so it is not often that you really see an unfamiliar face. The size allows me to feel more connected with my peers and it has made SWU really feel like a home.

🤍What is your favorite activity, group, or event on campus?
My favorite group is called Engage. It is a discipleship group focused on God’s heart for people and the world. The leader, Christy Van Steenburg, is connected with Global Partners, an outreach group that aims to reach parts of the world that may not have access to the Gospel and introduce them to the Lord.
