Annie Peeters’ brand-new husband, Brian Peeters, was rummaging around in a black trash bag looking for his pajamas when Peeters’ sister, trying to sleep on the bunk bed above them, spoke.

“Time to be quiet, you guys,” Jessi Blanco said to the couple.

Annie Peeters recalled this moment, days later, with a laugh. That night in the bunk bed was her wedding night, after all.

The first night, Thursday, was derailed when the historic hotel’s roof caught on fire as the couple hung out in a hot tub with their friends.
