Camp Battles: Highlighting some great competition within position groups 📋 
Mike Hughes- 
Coming into year 3, Hughes should be given the first opportunity to start. He has been injury riddled, but when healthy, Mike has shown enough to be given a larger role. Although undersized, he uses his speed, ball production and toughness to make up for his 5’10” frame. This year will be a crossroads for Hughes, as it’ll determine his long term capabilities with the franchise. 
Jeff Gladney- 
After being drafted in the first round a week ago, you can get the feel that we have big plans for him. Gladney is also 5’10”, but uses his long arms to keep up with bigger receivers. Gladney has shown an impressive ability to tackle, which should bode well for his chances as an immediate starter on our team. Another factor that could help him see more time on the field is his versatility. He is a bulldog who is more than capable as a press corner, but has the patience to drop into zone. Furthermore, Glandey is advanced in his timing on outside blitzes. This will help our DC’s game plan to throw more wrinkles at opposing offenses. 
Holton Hill- 
As an undrafted free agent in 2018, Hill played in all 16 games as a rookie. This past season he was suspended for half of the year and failed to make much progress on the field. Although in limited playing time, Hill has shown flashes of being an every down corner. If given the chance to take the reigns as a starter, Hills IQ, size (6’2”), and demeanor on the field could make him a key player on our defense. 
Cam Dantzler- 
A third rounder in 2020, Cam has similar size to Hill and was one of the best performing corners in the SEC over the past two seasons. Dantzler is a guy that I don’t see starting week 1, but with increased opportunity, he very well could be locked in and starting as the season progresses. With size and athleticism that you can’t teach, Zimmer and co. should have a lot of fun bringing him along. •
