Birk was awarded with the Minnesota Vikings “Man of the Year” award 6 consecutive seasons, for his success not only on the field but off the field as well. A true bully in the trenches, Birk had unmatched toughness and was an extremely high IQ player as well. No complaints when a 6th Round pick pans out to be a Vikings legend.
