Charles Minot "Minnie" Dole (born April 18, 1899) nearly single-handedly created the 10th Mountain Division. After convincing the military we needed a mountaineering trained division of the Army, the 10th was formed. Safe to say without him a division with this specific skillset and training wouldn't have existed without him, and to that, we celebrate him today.
