It's one of those days you'll always remember where you were when it happened. For myself and many others, we were at a rink.

April 6, 2018: The Hurricanes were opening the second round of playoffs: Game 1 vs. Brandon. During the first period I recieved a text from my mom saying there had been a bus crash involving the Humboldt Broncos, but no word on how extreme it was. It hit me in a way I didn't understand. I first thought of my brother who played junior hockey. I thought of the two teams in front of me. I thought of all the Broncos' families, and the Humboldt community. As our game continued, you could start to see the atmosphere in the ENMAX Centre change. It was eerie. There's really no other words. The walk I have from ice level to the Hurricanes' office after games is not far, and every conversation I heard was about the crash and Logan Boulet. Logan was a Bronco, from Lethbridge. I got to the Canes office and immediately started to break down. The staff were all concerned, hugging, and wanting answers. It hit me harder than ever that hockey is so much more than a game - it's a family; No matter what level, city, or town.

As we're all at home right now, please reach out to those you love and who are still here. Have the conversation with your family members about organ donation - as the Boulet's did a little over two years ago.
Logan's legacy will forever be remembered, and we can all help by continuing to support #GreenShirtDay and become Organ Donors.

Knowing my Heart wasn't acceptable for organ donation, I always put aside the thought about being a donor. On April 8th, 2018 I educated myself more on organ donation, as a part of the #LoganBouletEffect. Since I have other organs that are stellar, I added a nice autograph to my donor card 👊🏼 To the amazing Boulet family - we love you and we'll always be #HumboldtStrong in #yql💚💛
