## Caption

It is with great sadness that last night, Wednesday, October 12th, a hateful act of vandalism occurred on Student Housing and Dining Services grounds. Antisemitic graffiti was discovered in Alder Hall, and subsequently reported to the Harassment & Discrimination Assistance and Prevention Program (HDAPP) and the UC Davis Police Department, and was immediately removed. This behavior is unacceptable and does not align with creating a welcoming community in Student Housing and Dining Services, nor with our University’s Principles of Community.

For residents who would like, professional staff will be available on Friday October 14, 2022 from 4:00pm-5:00pm on the first floor lounge of Alder Hall if you need support or would like to talk about the impact of this incident.

Student Housing and Dining Services echos what Chancellor May said “We condemn those cowards who once more have tried to intimidate our students. We know messages of condemnation are not enough. We will continue to meet with Jewish students, faculty and staff to not only show our support but talk through any solutions.”
