“We challenge you: Be humble. Be available. And help our Canisius High School shine, because of all that you do.”

Director of Campus Ministry Fr. Chuck Frederico, S.J., said those words to CHS juniors during his homily as he celebrated Thursday’s Junior Leadership Mass at our Scaccia Auditorium. 

During the Mass, members of the Class of 2025 received their rings or pins from their Heads of House in our CHS House System.

“Make a difference,” Frederico said. “Lock in, and let the world see how you shine, for God.”

Concelebrants of the Mass were teacher Fr. Michael Corcoran, S.J. '76, Assistant to the President Fr. Richard Zanoni, S.J., and Assistant to the Principal Fr. Edward Durkin, S.J.

Several students participated in the Mass, including Caleb Jackson ’25 (first reading, from the First Letter of Peter), John Ganci ’25 (Responsorial Psalm), Nicholas Miranda ’25 and Christian Jerome ’25 (Prayers of the Faithful), Owen Obrochta ’25 (crossbearer) and Isaiah Aljuwani ’25 and Matthew Dionne ’25 (candlebearers). The chorus performed as did our guitar and handbells ensembles.
