After I completed 2 years at Northern Virginia Community College as a student-athlete for the lacrosse team, I transferred to Virginia Commonwealth University to study Mass Communications: Broadcast/Journalism. 

I was still very passionate about sports and I found a way to continue a life within the sports world through my passion for digital media.

As a practice player for the VCU Women’s basktball team, I was able to do my part in supporting the team on the court as well as documenting the team when I was off the court. This included opportunities to capture moments in practice, live-camera operating with #VCUAthletics during home games, community events, bonding moments and more.

Lesson: You have the ability to create your own opportunities. If your goal is to do sports photography, get started! Whether that’s shooting pick-up games outside, little league games/practices, high school, college, semi-pro, pro. The more practice reps you can get in, the better you will become and the more you will learn.
