Lonnnng caption incoming, sorry not sorry 🤷🏻‍♀️ But I want to talk a little about body image today.
•
Body image is something I’ve struggled with my ENTIRE life. I’ve always been bigger/taller than all my friends (I’m 5’ 9”/175cm), grew up being told that I needed to eat less, and just overall was conditioned to believe that I was never small enough. I played sports growing up and have always been active, but no matter what, I never believed that I was enough. I hated myself in a lot of ways.

To be honest, I thought pregnancy would destroy me mentally. I was TERRIFIED of it growing up, to the point where I went back and forth on whether or not I even wanted kids because of how scared I was of what it would do to my body, thus my mentality. It’s all so fucked. But then Hazel showed up (literally - she wasn’t planned, fun fact lol) and I knew there was no way I’d let myself fall down that rabbit hole, for both my sake and for hers.

Today I’m 31 weeks and 3 days. I have two months exactly until my due date, and I’ve gained around 30 lbs. And you know what? I feel fucking AMAZING!! I was completely wrong about how pregnancy would affect my body image - I love my body so much right now. It’s crazy what it’s capable of. I’m growing a whole other person, and staying arguably more active now than I was even before baby. I don’t even bother with shirts anymore when working out because I’d rather just let the bump hang out 😂

I feel so good, you guys. I can’t speak for postpartum, but at this point I really can say I’ve never loved myself more. I’ve developed such healthy habits that I truly believe I’ll be even better both mentally and physically than I was before I got pregnant - and that’s fucking priceless. I’m sad it took so many years for me to finally love myself, but I’m so grateful I finally figured it out. I can’t wait to finish out this last trimester, push this kid out, and see what I’m capable of postpartum and as a mom.

TLDR: I’m super proud of myself. Go me. 💁🏻‍♀️
