Water-borne organisms called biofilm are typically found on most surfaces that are in frequent contact with water. They form on the inner walls of irrigation systems, ponds, and reservoirs. The film can cause a variety of issues, including clogging of irrigation nozzles and sprinklers, reduced water flow and pressure, and algae growth. Biofilm can also harbor harmful bacteria that can cause diseases in crops.

Thanks to nanobubble technology, there are known case studies and research that show biofilms can be controlled without the use of chemicals.
