Every August my heart goes back to New Orleans. The saints brought me there first, but it was a call to service for desirestreet that brought me back in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Driving through the 9th Ward in the aftermath of her overwhelming and humbling destruction, I asked "how much of my life am I investing in things that will one day be trash, and how much am I investing in things that matter, things that will last, eternal things?"
