• Lenia Ruvalcaba (leniaf) 🇲🇽 leaps up in celebration the moment she realises she has won gold. Contrastingly her opponent Alana Maldonado is laid flat out on the tatami beside her.

• Upside down. Judoka eduardo_avila_judoman 🇲🇽 (blue) is lifted upside down during a throw at London 2012, but he is still holding onto his opponent’s judogi firmly with both hands.

• Azerbaijan’s Shahana Hajiyeva 🇦🇿 (blue) gets into a hold with Sandrine Martinet 🇫🇷 on Hajiyeva’s way to gold at Tokyo 2020. The pair are grappling together and Martinet has placed her feet onto Hajiyeva. 

• Uugankhuu Bolormaa of Mongolia 🇲🇳 celebrates winning the bronze medal after a super fast Ippon at the Rio 2016 Paralympics. 

• Close hold between Namig Abasli 🇦🇿and Davyd Khorava 🇺🇦 at Tokyo 2020. Every bout starts in a holding position. The judoka’s take hold of their opponents judogi and then the referee calls Hajime for the bout to begin.

• Dartanyon Crockett 🇺🇸lies on the tatami and holds his hands over his face in total disbelief after winning bronze at Rio 2016. 

• Cherine Abdellaoui 🇩🇿(blue) battles with Michele Aparecida Ferreira 🇧🇷 on Abdellaoui’s way to bronze.

• Dalidavis Rodriguez 🇨🇺 celebrates by holding her gold medal and mascot on the podium at Rio 2016. She is a double gold medalist after also winning at London 2012. 

• Inna Sych 🇺🇦on the podium with gold. Sych was one of the stars of the Rio 2016 Paralympics Games winning a brilliant first gold. Her sister also competed in judo at the Rio 2016 Olympics.

• Every Para Judo slideshow needs the master tenoriojudoca 🇧🇷- four time gold medalist, (Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000, Athens 2004, Beijing 2008) one time silver (Rio 2016) and one time bronze medalist (London 2012). One of the all time Paralympic greats.
