A five-time US Open champion across singles and doubles and former world No. 1 in both disciplines, Stan Smith is best known outside tennis circles for his iconic sneaker.

The brand new documentary, “Who Is Stan Smith?” opens May 3 in Los Angeles at Landmark’s Nuarttheatre at 11272 Santa Monica Blvd., with Pasadena native stansmithonline in person for the 7:30 screening, and continues at the Nuart through May 9 before opening at laemmletheatres Santa Monica, Glendale and Encino on May 10. Visit whoisstansmith.com for more info and tickets.

As part of the documentary’s youth outreach, the film has partnered with the ustafoundation as its official charity beneficiary. A portion of the film’s proceeds will benefit the Foundation’s flagship National Junior Tennis & Learning (NJTL) network, which provides more than 150,000 under-resourced youth access to free or low-cost tennis and academic programming.
