The tampabayautomobilemuseum is one of the coolest ways to spend an afternoon in the area, an absolute hidden gem that’s worth a visit for car nuts and history lovers alike.

Located at 3301 Gateway Centre Blvd in Pinellas Park, this isn’t a traditional car museum. Rather than muscle cars or futuristic prototypes, this massive international collection has a specific focus on high quality engineering, and unique vehicles.

Not only does every single car in the collection run (a rule the owner has for himself), but 14 of the cars are the only known examples left in the world of their model. Included in them are engines powered by steam, coal, and electricity (from nearly a century before Teslas hit the highways); rare originals from the early days of auto manufacturing; and even the world’s only working replica of the first-ever self-propelled vehicle constructed in France in 1770.

The incredible museum is open from 10 am - 4:30 pm Wednesday-Monday.
