In a ceremony perfectly appropriate for the eclectic community, Gulfport unveiled a 14-foot-tall skateboarding gecko statue over the weekend as one of the featured events during its 22nd-Annual Geckofest. 

Created by renowned local artist Ray Domingo, the sculpture (named G. Gordon McFly) can be found in the sand at the south end of Gulfport's Beach Boulevard, next to the historic Gulfport Casino.
