The Hungry Cowgirl’s story begins with two successful Pittsburgh restaurateurs, Vince Perri and Gretchen Helt. Having a breadth of experience working in the traditional restaurant scene, the⁠
two were forced to reimagine what it means to bring the full restaurant experience directly to the customer’s doorstep in 2022. ⁠

The Covid-19 pandemic brought shockwaves to the restaurant⁠
industry and despite any previous success, Vince and Gretchen had to find ways to adapt. The central question became how these two friends could survive in a world where consumer⁠
preferences have changed. ⁠
⁠
That led them to opening the Hungry Cowgirl in September of 2022, a delivery and pick-up only restaurant located in the Strip District that specializes in Tex-Mex style bowls. Today’s market has gotten to the point where most working class people cannot look at takeout or delivery as a truly sensible option except in ‘emergency’ situations” says Gretchen. “We hope⁠
to curb that trend by getting delicious, and healthy meals to the everyday working class person at a rate they can actually fit into a weekly budget.”⁠

With their first concept underway, they want to continue expanding their offering to Pittsburgh consumers and plan to launch a new concept in the coming months!⁠
