"My name is Marlyn Parra, a Venezuelan native living in Pittsburgh since 2015. My husband, Anthony Goncalves, and I have a passion for the traditional food from our country. This passion drove us to share our delicious food with the community of Pittsburgh for the past 3 years. ⁠

Anthony and I owned a small restaurant located in the food court of a mall back in our home country. After we decided to leave Venezuela we arrived in Pittsburgh with one dream, to own and operate a Venezuelan restaurant and continue sharing our talent and love for our country's culture to everyone around us. ⁠

We opened the doors to Cilantro & Ajo cilantro.ajo for the first time in August of 2018 and started our Food Truck a year later.⁠

Our menu is tastefully curated from all of our favorite dishes of traditional Venezuelan street food and we’re proud of our entire menu, but it is necessary to mention that our green sauce (Cilantro & Ajo sauce) is addicting and brings up conversation from all of our guests. "⁠

What gets you excited to go to work every day?⁠
"Our place is a little slice of Venezuela here in Carson street. Our commitment to share the most authentic and traditional flavors of our country keeps me excited to come to work everyday." ⁠

"People always ask about the “secret ingredients” in our sauce, and the answer is in the name (Cilantro & Ajo) but is in Spanish"⁠

What's next for you?⁠
"We’re cooking a couple of new projects with the intention to reach more people and continue sharing the most important Venezuelan flavors until we become the best and the main point of reference for Venezuelan food around town."⁠
