Few wonders are so beloved, so joyous, as Notre Dame. Overlooking the banks of the Seine River in Paris, the towering cathedral has stood proudly since its construction began in 1163. Notre Dame is the pinnacle of French Gothic architecture, elegantly lined with ribbons of arches, statues, and marvelous stained glass windows. This wonder has endured a great many challenges over the years, but always emerged from its woes with the same grandeur and beauty found at its creation centuries ago.

The happiness this wonder bestows to all who bear witness is its greatest source of strength in Civ 5. Building it in one of your cities grants a considerable boost to happiness, which will help your entire civilization to grow. Nothing makes me happier than to see Notre Dame in one of my cities. I hope you have the opportunity to come see it, too.
