Buckle up for a ride through fashion history! 🌟 Just over 50 years ago, the iconic Battle of Versailles redefined the world of haute couture and ready-to-wear. French elegance met American innovation as iconic designers Yves Saint Laurent, Hubert de Givenchy, Pierre Cardin, Emmanuel Ungaro, and Christian Dior faced off against American visionaries Stephen Burrows, Anne Klein, Oscar de la Renta, Bill Blass, and Halston. 🇫🇷🆚🇺🇸

Under the dazzling lights and in front of a star-studded audience, American designers SHUT👏 IT 👏DOWN👏. They showcased their ingenuity, catapulting ready-to-wear into the global spotlight. Stephen Burrows stephenburrowsworld, the youngest of the bunch, wowed the crowd with his vibrant, energetic designs, putting Newark on the fashion world map. 

Join us for a special screening of ‘Versailles ’73’ to relive this pivotal night and explore its impact on fashion at our exhibition, ‘The Story of Newark Fashion: Atelier to Runway.’
