Berkeley Unified School District, or BUSD, superintendent Enikia Ford Morthel was questioned by the House Committee on Education and the Workforce on antisemitism within Berkeley’s public schools at a congressional hearing this morning.

Along with public school leaders David Banks and Karla Silvestre of New York City, New York, and Montgomery County, Maryland, districts respectively, Morthel answered to House representatives on alleged incidents of antisemitism within BUSD as stated in a recent complaint filed against the district by the Brandeis Center and Anti-Defamation League alleging a lack of action against antisemitic bullying.
