In 1938, Auburn Football introduced a green jersey. Head coach Jack Meagher had to prove to his fellow Notre Dame coaching friends just how much he loved his alma mater.⁣

The green only lasted two years. Auburn went 6-6 over the two seasons wearing the foreign-colored tops.⁣
