Life Lately 🤷🏻‍♀️ —we MOVED! Sort of…

(All 📸 are from our ‘new’ home in #americasfinestcity, which is in full bloom! 🌸)

LET’S BEGIN—Recently we grappled with the decision of home repairs 💸. Despite what you see on squirrelmusttravel, SAVING is our # 1 priority. (We both want to retire by 50-ish!)

So when we calculated the expense of a new HVAC, W/D, etccc., we felt defeated. 

And similar to 2019 (when we rented our 2nd room for a year+ to afford 3 mo. in SE Asia)… we decided to get crafty…

Luckily, my Mom lives nearby, and has (also) been bit by the travel bug. And since she co-parents Maxx 🐶, we decided to share ONE mortgage for the summer++?

Our goal: afford home updates, not touch our savings, and travel, more?…

LONG story short, we’ve decided to DOWNSIZE big time, rent our home, AND share 1 mortgage with a fellow traveler (my Mom!), …who’s also a built in pup sitter 😉. 

BONUS: Maxx is the happiest he’s ever been—knowing he gets his fav people under one roof. SWIPE to see his happy faces (last is my fav).

How have you gotten crafty to afford travel? 

🔸IMP reminder: we’ve worked really hard to make squirrelmusttravel a fun side biz, and we’re lucky that it pays for much of our travels 🙏. Whether it’s content creation, freelance services, dog walking (which Evan used do to save!), there are soooo many wants to get crafty & prioritize LIVING! Do you agree?
