Read this over and over again. This is the life of Palestinian children in Gaza, imagine by the age of 14 you have lived through 4 genocides, massacres, horrific attacks! I refuse to say war, because that implies that there’s two equal sides while this is an oppressed people and an oppresser, a coloniser and colonised! 

What I lived through 7 years ago in 2014 alone not mentioning the horrific attacks in 2008, 2012 still haunts me every single day. Living with trauma when it’s still happening is so exhausting and even though I left Gaza those days still scare me as if it was yesterday. Healing is a long process and what’s happening back home is traumatising generations after generations! I can’t ever find the words to describe the amount of pain and suffering we’ve been living through for decades. 

Yesterday was a horrible day for me, I spent hours crying and panicking after I had so many flashbacks of my trauma. Trauma manifests in different ways, and it’s different for each person but I just want you all to remember, even if Palestine isn’t trending anymore that doesn’t mean that the suffering, the ethnic cleansing, the trauma and the horrific aftermath have stopped. 

Read these pages carefully and imagine that this child is your sibling, your dear friend or even your child. And you can’t imagine how hard it has been for me to talk openly about my mental health and my trauma but I’m doing it because I don’t want any human being to go through what we Palestinians have been going through. Keep talking about what’s happening and keep sharing and keep making noise because we need you! We need everyone to stand with us so our people can live like every other humans in the world.
