It’s Recruiting Tip Thursday!! Today we have tip #4 in our recruiting mistakes series!

Fourth up we have not making or sharing a highlight video. 
•
Highlight videos are super important. Why? Having an effective highlight video may help to pique a college coach’s interest in you or could be beneficial to share with coaches who might not be able to watch you play in person.
•
It’s worth noting that you shouldn’t just throw together a highlight video: it should be carefully curated to showcase your talents. Here are some things to keep in mind when creating your video:
-Keep it short and sweet: most coaches won’t watch more than a minute or two of film, so don’t worry about making it super long
-Start with your best clips: be sure that coaches will see your strongest plays by putting them at the beginning of the video
-Use clips that show versatility: coaches want to see all that you’re capable of, so don’t only show clips of you doing the same thing over and over
-Show your hustle: along with being versatile, coaches want to see your work ethic, competitiveness, aggression, and speed
-Don’t shy away from showing mistakes: you might think including a clip of you dropping the ball or missing a shot is counterintuitive, BUT coaches want to see how you react to mistakes and make up for them, so if you got the ball back right away or made up for it in another way, that would be a good way to show your grit
