canisiushsrow captured four state titles and qualified several boats for national regattas at the New York State Championships on Fish Creek in Saratoga Springs.
 
The Crusaders also notched four silver medals in qualifying 23 varsity oarsmen for the Scholastic National Championship in New Jersey and four boats for the Youth National Championship in Sarasota, Florida.

In the Varsity Eight, both CHS boats took silver to match the best finish at states since 2014. Both crews also qualified for the scholastic nationals for the first time since 2014.

The Varsity Eight of Max Burget ’24, Peter Cross ’24, Liam Feeney ’25, Isaiah Aljuwani ’25, Ethan Pirigyi ’26, Alex Pusateri ’24, Thomas Skowron ’25, James Dodman ’24 and Teddy Hibbard ’24 and the Second Varsity Eight of Mark Kadiev ’24, Owen Gray ’26, Meer Renschler Pandey ’25, Oliver Reynolds ’26, Kohler Stewart ’25, Aydan Weese ’25, Evan Dahl ’26, Matt Zakrzewski ’25 and Noah Rajecki ’25 will head to New Jersey.

In the JV Four event, Canisius repeated as champions. Coxed by Leo Mertz ’26, the crew of Zack Benczkowski ’26, Patrick Basil ’26, Trevor Wierzbowski ’25 and Toe Toe ’25, Canisius edged out Fayetteville-Manlius by 0.7 seconds.

Feeney and Aljuwani won the Varsity Pair event, with Burget and Dodman finishing with silver; Burget, Pusateri, Kadiev and Cross took gold in the Senior Four.
